SEPA Cards Framework Sub-Group

The Association of Latvian Commercial Banks, Ltd First Data Latvia and Latvia Merchant Association deemed it necessary to establish the SEPA Cards Framework Sub-group in order to enhance the introduction of terminal-to-acquirer domain of SEPA Cards Framework and it convened the first meeting on 29 March 2010.

On 12 May 2011 aiming to facilitate secure e-commerce environment in Latvia SEPA Cards Framework Sub-group adopted the recommendation inviting consumers apply for the Latvian banks' gratis service "Secure online payments". Due to this service it is not possible to make remote card transactions without additional password. Therefore even if the card has been lost or stolen, it will be protected from the opportunity to use it for online purchases by the third persons.

SEPA Cards Framework Sub-Group approved Latvian translation ( 312 KB) of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard self-assessment questionnaire. The questionnaire would be used by acquiring bank request. The consultation about the questionnaire available at the merchant's acquiring bank.

19.09.2011

SEPA Cards Framework Sub-Group recommends to become acquainted with the information about the secure e-merchant certificate, which has been granted by Latvian Merchant Association.
