Public authorities

In the SEPA project, public authorities play the most significant role in supporting the project, because execution of their payments as the SEPA payments – SEPA credit transfers, SEPA card payments, SEPA direct debit and using e-SEPA services – results in the provision of a significant part of Latvia's entire payment services.

The elaborated SEPA payment standards support e-government and e-procurement practice initiatives in Europe.

In the migration process all involved stakeholders are invited to perform the SEPA compliance self-assessment.
